Guatemala 2012 - Spring Break Student Compassion Trip

Imagine a place where 70,000 of the women are widowed, many of their husbands claimed victim to a 30 year Civil War … a place where a husband has left his family to find work, only never to return home again, leaving their wives to struggle on a daily basis to provide for their children’s most basic needs (food & shelter) … a place where mudslides have left widows homeless, living on the ground without shelter over their heads, susceptible to illness & disease … a place where widows & their children live on less than $1 a day.  This place is real – it is Chichicastenango Guatemala.

Now imagine being part of a team of world changers that can lock arms with one another and live open handedly to make a difference in these families’ lives.   This year, 12 of our high school students will approach Spring Break in a radical way... they will head to Guatemala to build widow homes; participate in a feeding program that spiritually and physically feeds over 1200 children and 250 widows each week; and install 10 wood-burning stoves to provide families with a safe alternative for cooking and staying warm.    You do not have to physically travel to Guatemala to be part of the team.   It takes a much larger team of prayer partners and financial donors to make this journey possible.

Will you consider partnering with our students to make a difference in Guatemala?
